Fall on Pause: Rainy and Warm

CHANCE FOR RAINFALL THIS WEEKEND AND MIDWEEK NEXT WEEK

TGIF! It’s not a Friday-like weather scene outside with overcast conditions and scattered showers breaking out this morning. Temperatures are also running 20-25 degrees warmer than 24 hours prior, going from the 40s to the 60s with the increased moisture and cloud cover. Highs will be in the 70s for the most part today with scattered rain showers around at any point in time. A rumble of thunder or two cannot be ruled out. The rainfall will continue through tonight and into the weekend, with more thunderstorms possible for Saturday. Highs this weekend may top 80 in a few spots, and lows will be in the 60s each morning as the increased moisture won’t allow much in the way of cool weather.

A cold front will sweep through Sunday, bringing a temporary end to the rainfall to start the work week. More in the way of showers and thunderstorms can be expected by midweek as a sharp cold front approaches the area. This front will usher in the coolest air mass so far this season just in time for Halloween trick or treating next Thursday night, with lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s expected and highs on Friday struggling to top the 60 degree mark.
