Notasulga Man Arrested For Double Homicide

A man accused of a double murder in Notasulga was arrested Tuesday in Louisiana.

Louisiana state police and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Aaron Gess and now he is awaiting extradition to Alabama.

Police said Gess took the lives of his sister Sharon Gess and his brother William Gess, Jr.

Sharon worked at East Alabama Medical Center.

EAMC released a statement about her death:

“We are obviously heartbroken and deeply saddened by today’s tragedy. Sharon was well-loved and a highly respected member of our leadership team at EAMC. She was director of both our Emergency Department and our Emergency Medical Services (ambulance service). Our entire EAMC family is devastated and we grieve for Sharon’s family.”
