Alanis Morissette Battling Postpartum Depression
SINGER ALANIS MORISSETTE REVEALS IN BLOG POST SHE'S BATTLING POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION FOR A THIRD TIME AND OPENED UP ABOUT HER STRUGGLES WITH IT
(CNN) – Singer Alanis Morissette revealed in a blog post she’s battling postpartum depression for a third time, and opened up about her struggles with it.
Morissette and her husband welcomed their third child, Winter Mercy, two months ago.
She says she’s learned some tricks from her battles with post-partum depression after the births of her daughter, Onyx Solace, who’s three, and son Ever Imre, who’s eight.
The 45-year-old singer wrote, “I saw how things got richer after I came through it the last two times… There is so much more support this time.”
She added, “But for all of this preparation, PPD is still a sneaky monkey with a machete.”
And she wrote, “Wouldn’t it be cool if we treated all post partum moms and families with this awareness and honor.”
