Economy Added 136,000 Jobs In September
DESPITE ECONOMIC WARNING SIGNS, THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE REACHED A NEARLY 50 YEAR LOW LAST MONTH
(CNN) – American hiring is still strong amid signs the global economy is slowing.
The U.S. added 136,000 jobs in September.
The unemployment rate was at 3.5%.
That’s nearly a 50-year low.
The number of discouraged workers, or people who’ve stopped looking for work also fell by more than 100,000 in September.
The economy benefited from 1,000 new positions from the U.S. Census.
