Cougar Baseball to Host Auburn

During its fall season, the Columbus State University baseball program will host Auburn University on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at Burger King Stadium at Ragsdale Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The cost of admission into the game will be $5.

“This is a great opportunity for us to show off our facility as well as seeing how we match up against one of the best Division I teams in the nation,” commented head coach Greg Appleton.

“We have a very proud baseball tradition here at Columbus State and we are thrilled to be able to give back to our fans and the Chattahoochee Valley community by giving them this chance to watch their hometown team against Auburn.”

Auburn is fresh off its first appearance in the Division I College World Series since 1967. The Tigers went 38-28 in 2019 and will be one of the favorites in the SEC heading into the 2020 season.

Columbus State, one of the all-time winningest Division II programs in the nation, has made eight trips to the DII College World Series with the last coming in 2018. Last season, the Cougars went 31-20 to mark their 13th straight winning season and the 24th in the past 25 years.
