Still Hot, No Tropical Relief
POTENTIAL HUMBERTO WILL MOVE EAST OF AREA, KEEPING HEAVIER RAINFALL AWAY
A hot one is in store for Friday the 13th. After seeing 99 degrees yesterday, we’ll again be in the middle to perhaps upper 90s for highs today. The saving grace will be lower humidity which will keep heat index levels down, but regardless, take extreme caution if doing anything strenuous outdoors. High school football players (and officials) tonight…HYDRATE!
Any thoughts of relief from a potential tropical system have been pretty much squashed as models take a potential Tropical Storm Humberto to our east over the Florida peninsula and southeastern Georgia. This will keep heavy tropical rainfall well to our east and give us only a chance for a shower or thunderstorm over the weekend. While we may not see the intense heat as in the past few days, highs will still be above normal in the lower 90s through the weekend into early next week.
