Wayne Signs Pro Deal

Former Columbus State University women’s basketball standout Tatiana Wayne signed her first professional contract to continue her basketball career on Tuesday.

Wayne will head to Limassol, Cyprus to play for Anagennisi Germasogeias.

“I’m blessed to continue to play the game I love so much,” commented Wayne. “Thank you to the people who encouraged me along the way. I’ve dreamed of this day since I was a little girl and I can’t wait to see what my rookie year has in store for me.”

A four-year player for Columbus State, Wayne is one of the top scorers in program history. She finished her career third all-time in total points with 1,323 and her 146 3-pointers are fifth all-time. Wayne is also in the top-10 all-time in games played in a Lady Cougar uniform.

Wayne was named the 2018 Peach Belt Conference and Southeast Region Player of the Year after a tremendous junior season. She led the PBC in points per game averaging 20 a night while going over the 20-point mark in 11 different games. She finished ranked inside the top-10 in the PBC in field goals made, 3-pointers made, 3-point percentage, free throw percentage, and steals. Her scoring average was the third-best in a single-season in CSU history.

Wayne also earned All-PBC and All-Southeast Region honors in 2019 after averaging 17.6 points per game for the Lady Cougars.

“No one worked harder for this than Tatiana,” commented Columbus State head women’s basketball coach Matt Houser. “We all are super proud of her accomplishment and wish her nothing but the best in her endeavors. We will be cheering for her back home in Columbus!”
