Another Hot One, Isolated Storms Around

After a hot Monday with scattered thunderstorms, Tuesday looks to be a repeat. The coverage of storms will be a little less, however, but one or two may again be on the strong side with gusty winds the main threat. Outside of the rainfall, highs will be in the lower to middle 90s. With humid air still around, expect heat index values once again above the century mark but just shy of the critical 105 degree threshold for an official heat advisory. Advisory or not, however, the heat will be at dangerous levels again today and through the rest of the week, so use caution when exercising or doing anything strenuous outdoors.

The heat finally breaks this weekend as the ridge breaks down and allows a further increase in moisture, finally yielding a chance of showers and storms by the weekend. Highs will be knocked down into the upper 80s to lower 90s, and while cooler, the temperatures will still be above the normal mid to upper 80s highs this time of year.

Lows through the period will be in the 68-74 degree range.
