The Heater is On, Dorian Approaching the Georgia Coast

HEAT INDEX COULD CRACK 100 THIS AFTERNOON

A ridge of high pressure will keep us dry and very hot over the next several days before rain chances return the latter part of the weekend. Daytime highs could go 5-7 degrees above the norm. Heat index values will push near 106 on some days.

Hurricane Dorian remains a Cat 2 this morning. He’s expected to skirt by the Georgia coast starting tonight with the eye staying offshore. Storm surge and damaging winds are of the greatest concern. Inland flooding is expected, too.

As for our area, we could feel wind gusts over 20 mph today into Thursday, but no rain.

Keep smiling,
