NY Officials Declare End Of Measles Outbreak
NEW YORK DECLARED END TO MEASLES OUTBREAK THAT SICKENED MORE THAN 650 PEOPLE.
New York, NY (WABC) – Some good health news for New York, the measles outbreak there has been declared over.
Mayor Bill de Blasio and the city’s health commissioner announced Tuesday the end of an outbreak that has sickened more than 650 people since last October.
Those measles infections led to more than 50 hospitalizations.
No new cases have been reported since mid-July.
95% of the measles patients in New York were either not vaccinated at all, vaccinated incompletely or did not know their vaccination status.
New York’s Health Department will continue to monitor for any new cases.
