Holiday Weekend Dorian-Free

A very refreshing morning will turn into a warm and dry day with highs in the 88-95 range through our area. We’ll still see a dry night tonight with low humidity; high school football games will see temperatures in the upper 80s to start, falling through the 80s into the upper 70s by the final whistle.

The holiday weekend should be nice for the most part, with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon hours. The humidity will return with highs in the lower 90s and lows in the 70-75 range after the widespread 60s we saw this morning.

Hurricane Dorian is expected to make landfall in east central Florida as a destructive category 4 hurricane sometime Monday or Tuesday. The steering winds will then slacken, leaving the storm over the peninsula for a day or two as it turns northward toward southeastern Georgia. Any plans for the Florida Panhandle beaches this weekend should go on as planned; plans involving the state south of I-10 and east of Tallahassee need to be monitored for possible cancellations as Dorian approaches the Sunshine State.
