A Stormy Weekend

Strong Storms Possible This Weekend

Outside of a few isolated showers and thunderstorms, we’ve been mostly dry the last few days. That’s about to change.

High pressure that has kept rain mostly away will relinquish its grip and make room for a cold front that will push in from the north/northwest and sink through the area during the weekend. Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms Saturday into at least early next week. No severe weather is expected, but isolated strong storms with damaging winds, frequent lightning and heavy rainfall are possible. Rainfall amounts through Thursday could reach 1.5 to 2.5″ inches, but that number could change on the plus or minus side.

We can also expect slightly cooler temperatures for the weekend into early next week before we make a return to more seasonal averages.

TODAY- Scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon under mostly cloudy skies. Highs in the low 90s with heat indices as high as 99.

TONIGHT- Scattered showers and thunderstorms under mostly cloudy skies.  Lows in the low 70s.

TOMORROW- Scattered showers and thunderstorms likely under mostly cloudy skies. Highs in the low 90s with heat indices as high as 99.

Keep smiling,
