Rain Chances Increasing, Weekend Storms Possible
No Severe Weather Expected
After a few rather calm days in the storm department, things will change as we head into the weekend. An approaching cold front will kick up the cloud coverage beginning Friday and bring a decent chance for showers and thunderstorms for your TGIF.
The weekend looks to be a soggy one with showers and thunderstorms likely as that front attempts to sink through. No severe weather is expected, but there could definitely be a good dose of strong storms producing damaging winds, frequent lightning and periods of heavy rainfall with some localized flooding. Could see rainfall totals between 1.5-2.5″ over the next 7 days.
The rain will help cool things down a bit as highs and lows will dip a few degrees below the norm Saturday into early next week before rebounding to around seasonal by mid-week.
Have a great evening!
