Rain Chances Up Today
TEMPERATURES BACK DOWN TO NORMAL LEVELS AS A RESULT
We’ve already seen some showers and isolated thunderstorms in the southern part of our viewing area this morning. Those are dissipating, but more are on the way after the lunch hour as daytime heating goes to work on a humid and somewhat unstable air mass. Coverage of storms today will be around 50%, peaking in the later afternoon and early evening hours. Temperatures will be back down to normal levels as a result of the clouds and rainfall around, with highs peaking in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Low temperatures will be in the 68-74 degree range.
Showers and storms will become a little less numerous later in the week into the weekend, but we can’t totally get rid of a chance of rain through the weekend and beyond. High school football games should be OK for the most part but some may be doused by a quick shower or thunderstorm. Outside the storms, temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s at kickoff, falling to the 75-80 degree range by the end of the contests.
