Susan and Bryant Walker to Chair 2019 Columbus Walk To End Alzheimer’s

COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, AUGUST 19, 2019 – Susan and Bryant Walker, owners, Wicked Hen Restaurant in Columbus join the Alzheimer’s Association® as the 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Event Chairs in Columbus.

“Every step closer to finding a cure to end Alzheimer’s is in the name of those we’ve lost,” added Bryant Walker, co-chair, 2019 Columbus Walk to End Alzheimer’s. “Our loved ones may have lost the battle with Alzheimer’s but our fight is far from over.”

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research programs. On Walk day, participants will honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease with Promise Flowers during the poignant Promise Garden Ceremony – a moving display of hope to represent the personal reasons participants join together to fight Alzheimer’s.

“We are incredibly grateful to Susan and Bryant for chairing this very important event to help us end Alzheimer’s,” added Autumn Amos, Alzheimer’s Association, Director of Development, Columbus Walk to End Alzheimer’s. “Both of them bring energy and passion to our event and help us raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association.”

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Uptown Columbus in Columbus. Nearly 1,000 people from Columbus and surrounding communities are expected at this year’s event to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease.

More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease – the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 16 million family members and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
