Daily Chances for Rain, Cooler Temps Coming
Keep the 'brella handy this week
After another hot and humid day where the heat index hit 102 degrees here in Columbus, a bit of a change is on tap.
We are under the influence of an upper low sandwiched between ridges of high pressure to our west and east. This will help keep rain chances in the forecast over the next few days. Moisture will continue to funnel in, so it will stay quite humid. Expect daily showers and thunderstorms especially during the heat of the afternoon with some storms producing damaging winds and heavy downpours.
Highs and lows will hover around seasonal for the rest of the week before a cold front approaches and stalls across the southeast bringing a bit of a cool down for the weekend although humid air looks to stay in place. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible Saturday and Sunday.
Have a great evening!
