Tigers announce 2019-20 tournament schedule

Auburn head coach Nick Clinard and the men’s golf program have announced their tournament schedule for the upcoming 2019-20 campaign.

“We are excited to start the season and play another outstanding tournament schedule,” Clinard said. “We will play some fabulous golf courses that have hosted Major Championships, PGA Tour events and top-level amateur tournaments.

“Additionally, our schedule presents the opportunity to play on different grasses in different parts of the country throughout the season which is imperative for player development. Each event will be a great test to evaluate where we are as a team and help us prepare for the NCAA Regionals and NCAA Championship come May.”

The Tigers have 10 tournaments scheduled for the regular season, spanning from coast to coast, in six different states.

The fall slate begins Sept. 23-24 when Auburn heads to Toledo, Ohio for the Inverness Intercollegiate at the Inverness Club.

Making the short trip to Vestavia Hills, Ala., the Tigers are set to take part in the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate for the 28th time in program history at Old Overton Club, Oct. 7-8.

Auburn then hits the road for the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational, Oct. 20-22, at Isleworth CC in Windermere, Fla.

The Tigers wrap up the fall with the Kiawah Classic on Kiawah Island, S.C. at Turtle Point CC, Nov. 3-5.

For the seventh consecutive season, Auburn begins its annual spring slate with a trip to Waikoloa, Hawai’i, Feb. 6-8, for the Amer Ari Invitational at King’s Course.

The Tigers head back to the west coast for the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate at the Classic Club in Palm Springs, Calif., Feb. 21-23.

Auburn is then set to host its annual Tiger Invitational, March 8-10, at Grand National in Opelika, Ala. The Tigers took the top spot in last year’s event and have won five of the previous seven installments of the tournament.

Auburn returns to the Sunshine State for its next two competitions. First, the Tigers travel to Palm City, Fla. for the Valspar Collegiate, March 16-17, at the Floridian GC. Next, Auburn takes part in the Calusa Pines Invitational at Naples, Fla. at the Calusa Pines GC, April 5-7.

The Tigers conclude the regular season with the Shoal Creek Invitational at Shoal Creek GC, April 13-14.

In the postseason, Auburn travels to St. Simons Island, Ga. for the 2020 Southeastern Conference Championship at Seaside GC, April 22-26.

The Tigers are slated to host the NCAA Regional for the fourth time in program history, May 18-20, at the AU Club. Auburn also hosted a regional in 1994, 2003 and 2014, advancing to the NCAA Championship all three years.

The 2020 NCAA Championship is set for May 29-June 3 at Grayhawk GC in Scottsdale, Ariz.
