A Toasty Tuesday

Dangerous Heat Across the Area Today

It will be another day to stay indoors if you can as the heat will be at dangerous levels. If you must be outside, stay hydrated. Daytime highs will hit the mid to upper 90s with heat indices over 105 for most of the area. Some spots could reach 110!

A surface front will begin to move into northern parts of Alabama and Georgia tonight bringing the chance for strong storms. These storms will affect our viewing area Wednesday. Damaging winds, frequent lightning and heavy rainfall with the possibility of localized flooding will all be of concern. Low risk for tornado activity, but we’ll need to keep an eye on that as there will be some instability to tap into.

Once the front pushes through, temperatures will return to near seasonal the latter part of the week with humidity retreating a tad.
