Staying Hot & Humid… Guh!

Heat Index Could Crack 110 Degrees

The dangerous heat remains the big story through Wednesday as daily highs will hover around the mid to upper 90s with heat indices easily cracking 105 in many areas. Breaking the 110 degree mark is not out of the question, either! Moisture drenched air will continue to funnel in, but a surface cold front will introduce drier air during the latter part of the week, so the humidity will ease up a bit and we’ll see a return to more seasonal highs and lows.

Not expecting much rain Tuesday outside of spotty showers, but a better chance arrives Wednesday and even Thursday as the front pushes through. As of this writing, there is a MARGINAL risk for severe storms on Hump Day. Damaging winds, frequent lightning and periods of heavy rain will all be possible. With some moderate instability aloft, we cannot rule out isolated tornado activity, but the risk remains low at the moment. We’ll be keeping an eye on that.

Have a great evening!
