A Hot and Humid Monday
HEAT INDEX COULD HIT 110!
It’s going to be another hot and humid day as a HEAT ADVISORY will be in place across the area. Sweltering heat could push the index up to 110+ degrees this afternoon and tomorrow. Be sure to keep yourself hydrated if you plan to stay outdoors for an extended period of time. Lather up in the sunscreen, too.
Although instability will not be impressive across the area today, we could still see a few strong thunderstorms pop up in the heat of the afternoon. Gusty winds, lightning and brief downpours are not of out the question.
An upper ridge will help reinforce the hotter weather over the next few days, but a broad upper low will begin to affect the area mid-week as a surface cold front will enter and increase rain chances while bringing a cool down to near seasonal temperatures by the latter part of the week into the weekend.
TODAY- A slight chance for afternoon showers and a thunderstorm or two under partly sunny skies. Highs in the mid 90s with heat index values as high as 105.
TONIGHT- Partly clear. Lows in the upper 70s.
TOMORROW- Isolated afternoon showers
and thunderstorms under partly sunny skies. Highs in the upper 90s with heat index values as high as 107.
