Texas: Governor Abbott Grants $5 Million For El Paso Recovery
THE GOVERNOR OF TEXAS JUST ANNOUNCED $5 MILLION IN STATE FUNDING TO THE EL PASO COMMUNITY
(CNN) – $5 million delivered.
For people in the El Paso community, it’s a step toward healing after last weekend’s deadly shooting.
Texas governor Greg Abbott made the announcement Wednesday.
After meeting with El Paso leaders, the governor identified several issues concerning the community including, taking a closer look at how it prepares for and handles domestic terrorism, how to address hate or racism both in the community and online, and gun safety.
The governor said he’ll begin round tables on these issues within the month.
