Rain Chances Lower, Temperatures Higher

After a rainy past four days, rain chances will decrease today but will still be in the 30% range throughout the area. Highs will be uniformly in the lower 90s today, with the humidity pushing the heat index towards the century mark. Lows will be in the 69-75 degree range tonight and every night through the rest of the week.

Shower and storm chances decrease further for tomorrow and Thursday, and highs will creep up into the middle 90s in some areas. With low-level moisture around, heat indices will eclipse the 100 degree mark, so take it easy outdoors and take frequent breaks and stay hydrated, especially in the afternoon and early evening.

Later this week, the area may become prone to complexes of showers and storms dropping southeast from the midwestern states. While there is little skill in predicting where these may develop, heavy rainfall and strong storms will be possible with any complex that happens to meander into our area. That may be the lone source of rainfall later this week, with typical pop-up shower and thunderstorm chances returning this weekend.
