LaGrange Fire Department Building Station #5

The LaGrange Fire Department is building Station #5 and a burn building in order to provide better response time for the citizens of LaGrange!

The new station will house a Fire Engine and Command Unit.

The new burn building will be used to train city and county fire fighters.

They are also looking to hire three more firefighters to add to their current 63 on staff.

The new station is located on Vernon Road, near the hospital.

Fire Chief John Brant hopes that Fire Station #5 will be open late August 2019.

Also, the LaGrange Fire Department has received Accredited Agency status with the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) for meeting the criteria established through the CFAI’s voluntary self-assessment and accreditation program.

Only 250 out of nearly 30,000 fire departments in the nation receive this accreditation.

LaGrange is the 10th fire department in Georgia to receive the honor.

Agency accreditation is a voluntary process. According to the CFAI, accreditation shows the agency is performing to industry best practices and is holding itself accountable through an external peer review.

LFD started this process more than five years ago.

CFAI is dedicated to assisting the fire and emergency service agencies throughout the world in achieving excellence through self-assessment and accreditation in order to provide continuous quality improvement and the enhancement of service delivery to their communities.
