Sun and Storms to Start the Week
CHANCES FOR RAIN DECREASE, HEAT INCREASES MIDWEEK
As with the past few days, we’ll have a chance for showers and thunderstorms starting around the noon hour into the afternoon and evening hours. The storms will be slow movers, so heavy rainfall is possible as well. The expected cloud cover and rainfall will keep temperatures down with highs in the upper 80s to around the 90 degree mark.
The chance for storms will decrease toward the middle part of the work week, and as a result, temperatures will creep up with highs in the lower to middle 90s.
By Thursday and Friday, northwest flow aloft will put us on the tracks for possible MCSs (weather nerd term: mesoscale convective systems; basically big areas of rain and storms) that will develop to our northwest and move down into the area. There’s very little skill in predicting MCS development, so we’ll leave a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast for late week through the weekend. Highs will be in the lower 90s toward the end of the week with lows in the lower to middle 70s.
