LaGrange Police Looking to Partner with Community in Fighting Crime Through Private Camera Registration

The LaGrange Police Department is hoping to collaborate with business owners and community members to help step up the fight against crime.

LPD investigators are inviting the community to be a part of their Private Camera Registration Process. This will give officers an opportunity to identify owners and operators of privately-owned video recording systems located in areas of crime.

The police department will not have access to the cameras. When a citizen or business registers, LPD will know who to contact if a crime is committed in that particular area. Investigators will contact camera owners to request video footage of a crime that occurred near that location. The citizen information will always remain private.
