Here Comes the Rain, Cooler Temps and Lower Humidity
STRONG STORMS POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON
A rare July cold front sweeps through the area today bringing showers and thunderstorms, so don’t forget the umbrella as you walk out the door this morning. Not expecting any severe weather this afternoon or evening, but cannot rule out a few storms kicking up strong winds, frequent lightning and heavy downpours at times. Rainfall totals through tonight could reach 1 inch.
Once the front passes, we will enjoy cooler daytime highs and nighttime lows for at least a few days. The humidity, that has been so uncomfortable for a good stretch, will also retreat for a bit before the mugginess and an increase in rain chances return for the weekend.
TODAY- Showers and thunderstorms likely under mostly cloudy skies. Highs in the mid 80s.
TONIGHT- Scattered showers and thunderstorms ending then partly cloudy after midnight. Lows in the upper 60s.
TOMORROW- Mostly sunny with highs in the mid 80s.
