New Treatment for pancreatic cancer.

In Your Medical Minute,

Preliminary research shows immunotherapy could be a safe and effective treatment for pancreatic cancer.

Scientists from Baylor College harvested immune cells from 18 patients, extracting those able to recognize and kill cancer cells.

After growing those cells in large numbers, they infused them back into each patient over six treatments.

The treatment helped stabilize or improve the disease in about half of the patients.
