Vaping Tied To Decrease In Smoking Cigarettes
ADULTS WHO USE E-CIGS MAY BE MORE LIKELY TO QUIT SMOKING CIGARETTES, ACCORDING TO STUDY
Duluth, MN (KQDS) – Adult vapers may find it easier to kick the habit of smoking cigarettes.
A study tracked more than 5,000 daily cigarette smokers for two years in France.
Smokers who used electronic cigarettes or “vape pens,” smoked fewer cigarettes each day and were more than 1 1/2 times more likely to quit.
Researchers also looked at former smokers.
They found that those who vaped were more likely to relapse.
The study was published in the journal Jama internal medicine.
The research only looked at adult smokers.
As for teens, the Centers for Disease Control says they may be more likely to smoke cigarettes in the future if they vape.
