Effort To Get More Yale Women Wikipedia Pages

YALE HOLDS 'EDIT-A-THON' TO BOLSTER ALUMNI PROFILES ON WIKIPEDIA

(CNN) – Yale wants more women to contribute to Wikipedia.

According to Yale, only 17% of the biographies on the user-generated information site are of women.

And an estimated 90% of editors on Wikipedia are male.

So the school held a one-day edit-athon Tuesday.

The event was to encourage women to edit and create profiles of Yale alumni women.

People even participated remotely.

Wikipedia reportedly supports the effort to make the site more inclusive.
