River Dragons Sign Goaltender Jared Rutledg

The Columbus River Dragons signed Jared Rutledge Tuesday morning. Rutledge is a 5’11 170-pound goaltender from Chicago, IL that will be entering his third season as a professional. Jared began his pro-career with the Mississippi RiverKings of the Southern Professional Hockey League before coming to the FPHL with the Watertown Wolves last season.

Jared has excellent lateral movement, tracks pucks well, and has a lightning quick glove. Before turning professional, Jared had an impressive amateur career. He played two seasons with the United States National Development team and three seasons in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Green Bay Gamblers and Tri-City Storm.

Rutledge also has three seasons of NCAA college hockey under his belt that includes a season with the University of Michigan and two seasons with Aurora University.

“I feel very fortunate to sign in such a great hockey town and look forward to being a part of bringing hockey back to Columbus. I’m excited to get to work and build towards a championship,” Said Rutledge.
