2018 CBP Memo Warned Of Social Media Behavior

LAST YEAR A MEMO WAS RELEASED TELLING CBP WORKERS THAT INAPPROPRIATE COMMENTS WERE MADE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

(CNN) – A Customs and Border Protection senior official was tipped off about inappropriate social media within the department.

According to a memo obtained by CNN that official was informed about a private Facebook group where offensive and inappropriate posts.

That memo, titled “Social Media Posts” was dated February 2018.

It made reference to CBP standards and its anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policies.

It also said the agency “may bring discipline against an employee who posts offensive messages on a social media page.”
