Hot and Humid 4th, Could See Some Storms
Heat Index Will Hit the Low 100s
Happy Birthday, America!
Moisture will increase across the area today and bring our chances of rain up a bit. Scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening are possible this afternoon through the weekend.
Anticipating better cloud coverage today which could help bring the extreme heat threat down a notch, but it will still be at least a few degrees hotter than normal. Heat indices will also try to push back into the low 100s, so will have to keep a watch out for the issuing of a Heat Advisory, but it doesn’t look likely to happen at this point. Still, take precautions if you plan to stay outdoors today to celebrate the holiday. Hydration is essential.
