A Better Chance of Rain Coming

Staying hot & humid

It will be another hot day staying several degrees above the norm. Most of the area will remain rain-free although there will be a slight uptick in moisture across the area. Still going with only isolated showers and thunderstorms that will be driven by the daytime heat, but will bump up the chances a bit Thursday and Friday because off that added moisture.

The dome of high pressure that has been dominating the area begins to flatten out some by Friday. This, along with a few short pulses of energy, could give us a better chance of showers and thunderstorms for the weekend.

Although daytime highs will be staying above normal, heat indices should not warrant Advisory levels today. It could be a different story tomorrow as the heat will increase a tad. Something we will need to keep an eye on.

—————————————————————————————————————————————

TODAY- Partly sunny with isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 90s with heat indices in the low 100s.

TONIGHT- Isolated showers and thunderstorms early then partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 70s.

INDEPENDENCE DAY- Partly sunny with isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 90s with heat indices in the low 100s.
