Hot, Humid & Storms for Monday
HEAT INDEX IN THE LOW 100S
The ridge of high pressure slides off to the east today with a more zonal flow settling in behind it by this afternoon. A shortwave will ride the flow and trigger a few afternoon showers and maybe a thunderstorm or two. Daytime heating and decent moisture aloft will help aid in this possibility. While instability looks to be moderate, strong to isolated severe storms are certainly possible.
A weak surface boundary will move through early Tuesday and become somewhat stationary to the southeast of our area through at least Thursday when it is expected to weaken even more and spread out, but will still help keep daily rain chances and thunderstorms in the forecast along with several shortwaves passing through across the week.
TODAY- Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon under mostly skies. Highs in the low 90s with heat indices in the low 100s.
TONIGHT- Partly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms ending after midnight. Lows in the mid 70s.
TOMORROW- Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon under partly sunny skies. Highs in the low 90s with heat indices in the low 100s.
