Beionca Bolden Was Shot On 20th Avenue In Phenix City

A Columbus Mother was killed during a drive by shooting in Phenix City Monday night and police are still searching for the suspect.

A large crowd of friends and family looked on the scene in stunned silence and sheer disbelief after the young mom of two was gunned down just before 10:00 PM .

Beionca Bolden was reportedly holding her toddler when she was shot through the front window of the brick home on 20th Avenue in Phenix City.

The baby escaped physically unharmed and placed in the custody of a family member according to a source with first hand knowledge of the incident.

The Russell County Coroner pronounced the 27 year old mother dead just before midnight from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Investigators tell First News she was visiting the home of her boyfriend at the time of the shooting and they do not believe she was a particular target in the shooting but have little to go off of without a description of the suspect or vehicle.

Police report heavy drug traffic in the area but the exact motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
