Trump And Macron’s Friendship Tree Dies?
TREE PLANTED BY TRUMP AND MACRON TO SYMBOLIZE FRENCH-AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP HAS DIED
(CNN) – The friendship-tree planted with much fanfare by president Trump and French president Emmanuel Macron is reportedly dead.
The two leaders planted the oak tree on the White House lawn last April.
It was supposed to symbolize 100 years of friendship between the two countries.
But a few days later, the tree was removed and quarantined as an agricultural import.
Plans for the tree to be replanted never happened.
Now a diplomatic source confirms to French media that the tree has died.
Incidentally, since the planting, the relationship between France and the U.S. has only become more strained. Mainly over the Iran nuclear policy, international security and the resurgence of nationalist forces in Europe.
