More Rain Cometh
A SOGGY WEEKEND AHEAD
Several waves of rain still to come!
Yards and gardens have been aching for moisture and they will not be disappointed as more rain will fall today through early next week. A slow-moving area of low pressure is trudging eastward toward the coast across the southeast while continuing to draw in ample moisture from the Gulf. Expect numerous showers and several thunderstorms through early next week before drier conditions take over mid-week.
Although instability for our area is lacking, we could see daily scattered thunderstorms with some possibly turning strong, but very few, if any, turning severe. Just over .75″ of rain fell over the last 24 hours and an additional 2-4 inches with higher amounts in some spots could fall by Tuesday night. Since it has been so dry with some areas not seeing rain for a few weeks, we are not anticipating any widespread flooding, but will not rule out some isolated flash flooding.
Daytime highs will run around 5+ degrees below normal through the weekend with nightly lows pacing around 5+ degrees above average.
