Rain Becoming Heavy At Times

Potential For Flooding

A large storm system moving eastward from New Mexico will join forces with tropical moisture over the western Gulf of Mexico. The combination of these two massive storms will lead to periods of rain and an occasional thunderstorm.   While a shower and thunderstorm will be on the prowl tonight and Thursday, no heavy rain is expected.   Rain will become heavy at times Friday into this weekend.   An average of 3-5″ of rain is expected through Monday night, along with flooding in areas of poor drainage.   Caution is advised, and remember what to do if you come across a flooded county road; turn around, don’t drown.

Humidity will be a mainstay through this forecast, but the increase in cloud cover and rain will wipe the slate clean in the hot air department.   Stay tuned, and stay safe.
