Hit/Miss PM T-Storm Set To Return

Humidity Fluctuation

The highest core of heat is slowly abating across the Chattahoochee Valley.   However, many more 90+ degree days are in the offing into next week.

Sunshine will make way for patchy afternoon clouds Thursday.  A similar setup is likely Friday, but this time there will be a weak cool front stalling just to the north of I-20.   While the front will not be strong enough to erase the heat, it will be close enough to help trigger an afternoon or evening thunderstorm in a few neighborhoods.   This front will likely dissipate this weekend, allowing for the return of rain-free weather across the entire region.  There may even be a slight decrease in humidity later in the weekend or early next week.

Meanwhile, the large dome of high pressure that has been providing the recent heat will be changing its orientation over the next several days.   That may allow a wind shift next week, and therefore allow for a little more thunderstorm activity to take the heat down a notch or two.   Stay tuned.
