Auburn Police Officer Shot on May 19 Released from Hospital and Now Recovering at Home

One of the Auburn officers, who was shot responding to a domestic dispute on May 19, is now back home.

Officer Webb Sistrunk was recovering at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital from a gunshot wound to the right shoulder.

Auburn Mayor Ron Anders paid him a visit and posted this picture on Twitter saying: “What a blessing to visit with Officer Webb Sistrunk this afternoon. He is a courageous young man. I’m proud to know him and prouder to know he keeps Auburn safe. Thank you Webb-true hero to Auburn.”
