Ford To Lay Off 7,000 Salaried Workers
FORD TO LAY OFF 10% OF ITS SALARIED WORKERS WORLDWIDE
(CNN) – Job cuts at Ford Motor Company.
The U.S. automaker says it’s shedding 10 percent of its salaried staff worldwide.
That’s 7,000 jobs.
Ford says affected workers will begin to be notified Tuesday and all of those losing their jobs will be out by August.
Ford’s CEO says the move is an effort to “cut bureaucracy, flatten its management structure and cut costs.”
Rival General Motors imposed similar cuts last year … shedding 8-thousand salaried and contract workers.
