The top-ranked Georgia women’s tennis team practiced for a about over two and a half hours Thursday afternoon at the USTA National Campus for its final preparation in the 2019 NCAA DI Women’s Tennis Championships.
Clear skies and a steady 10-mph wind brought mid-80 degree temperatures for much of the day Thursday. The forecast for tomorrow calls for high-80 degree weather.
“I thought today was a great workout,” Wallace said. “Everybody was really playing well and excited. There was a lot of energy out there. Now it is time to bring it and do what we have be doing this year in the match tomorrow. It is going to be hot like it was today, but it is beautiful out.”
On Friday, Georgia (26-1) will face No. 8-seed Vanderbilt (19-7) in the NCAA Quarterfinals at 5 p.m. ET and it will be aired live on the Tennis Channel. It marks the second straight NCAA Quarterfinals appearance for each team. The last time the Bulldogs advanced to the NCAA semifinals was in 2015.
