Rain Returns to the Forecast
A chance for shower and thunderstorms this weekend
High pressure slides off coast allowing for moisture to start flowing up from the Gulf. Humidity turns sticky with isolated showers this afternoon. There may even be a pop-up thunderstorm. Rain chances will fade overnight.
For the rest of the work week, the unsettled weather hangs with us as a slowing moving frontal boundary approaches out of the west giving us a chance for showers and thunderstorms each day. Some isolated storms could turn strong with gusty winds the main concern.
Looking ahead to weekend, that front looks to stall before entering our region on Friday as high pressure to the east helps keep it at bay. Although this front may not reach our area, several pulses of shortwave energy will slide through and trigger showers and thunderstorms through early next week. We will be keeping an eye on the chance for severe storms to pop up Sunday (Mother’s Day) afternoon into Monday morning.
TODAY- Partly cloudy with a slight chance for showers and maybe a thunderstorm. Highs in the upper 80s.
TONIGHT- Partly cloudy with lows in the mid 60s.
TOMORROW- Mostly cloudy with isolated showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Highs in the upper 80s.
