Humidity On Slow Simmer

Some Mother's Day Weekend Storms

There has been plenty of warmth over the past couple of weeks, but high humidity hasn’t always gone hand-in-hand with it.   The moderate dose of humidity will continue throughout Tuesday night under a mainly clear sky.   However, higher humidity will slowly build over the next few days.   The prospects of an afternoon thunderstorm are meager at best through Thursday, and that’s not really good as the drought monitor shows that we need the rain.

Meanwhile, a cold front situated across the Central Plains will slowly press toward the Chattahoochee Valley.   This front will likely stall, allowing waves of moisture to run along its length, helping to ignite thunderstorms.   This will lead to a distinct uptick in thunderstorm activity later Friday, and during the afternoon and evening hours of Mother’s Day weekend.   Sorry, Mom.
