The Auburn men’s golf team is set to make its 28th postseason appearance all-time, including the 10th time in as many seasons under head coach Nick Clinard, as it was chosen to the NCAA Louisville Regional.
The Louisville Regional will take place May 13-15 at the University of Louisville Golf Club, a par-71, 7,217-yard course. Auburn is the No. 2 seed and is one of 13 teams at the site.
The top five teams and one individual from the regional will advance to the 2019 NCAA Championship in Fayetteville, Ark., May 24-29.
“We’re excited with the draw,” Coach Clinard said. “The golf course will be good. The green speeds will be quick, and the wind might blow a little bit, but it’s a good golf course and it’ll be a good test. To compete against the No. 1 team in the country in Oklahoma State, you don’t get that chance very often.”
Auburn is one of five ranked teams in the field, joining No. 1 Oklahoma State, No. 13 North Florida, No. 22 Louisville and No. 25 Baylor. The rest of the regional features Arizona, Arkansas State, Iowa State, Jacksonville State, Mississippi State, New Mexico, Southern Illinois and West Virginia.
The Tigers are one of only four schools to advance to the NCAA Championship each of the last seven seasons along with Illinois, Oklahoma and Texas.
