McDonald’s Sales Soar Over Donut Sticks, Bacon Event
MCDONALD'S GROWTH LAST QUARTER IS LARGELY ATTRIBUTED TO DONUT STICKS AND BACON
(CNN) – McDonald’s posted large sales growth last quarter, due largely to two secret weapons: Donuts and bacon.
The fast food giant says it’s U.S. sales grew four and a half percent in the U.S.
Internationally, the results were even better.
Mickey D’s posted a 5.4% increase, marking its fifteenth consecutive quarter of global sales growth.
The fast food giant introduced donut sticks during this period and saw success with its one-day “bacon event” in January that allowed customers to add a side of bacon to any order.
Breakfast is seen as the largest area of growth in the fast-food industry.
Taco Bell, Burger King, Dunkin’ and Panera have all recently added breakfast menu items and promotions.
