Police: Teen Killed Man For Bicycle

Tellious Brown Charged With Murder of Roy Wilborn

A Police officer testified in Recorder’s Court Saturday that a Columbus teenager shot and killed a 60 year old man for his Bicycle.

The officer was testifying during a bond hearing for 17 year old Tellious Brown.

Brown allegedly shot Roy Wilborn near a bus stop at Illges and Rigdon Road late April 23rd and Wilborn died early the next morning at Piedmont Hospital.

The incident was one of two back to back Homicides in the city within hours last week.

Tellious Brown was immediately identified as the prime suspect but detectives declined to say specifically how they identified Brown.

Brown is charged with Murder, Possession of a Pistol or Revolver by a Person Under the age of 18, and Giving a False Name, Address or Birth date.

Family members appeared in court but declined to speak with First News about the incident.

Recorder’s Court Judge Robert Wadkins issued bonds for Possession of a Handgun and False Information but Brown remains in jail without bond for the Murder charge.

His case is bound over to Superior Court.
