Breezy Friday, Warm Up for Weekend
HIGHS NEAR 90 DEGREES POSSIBLE NEXT WEEK
After some showers and storms yesterday evening, skies will clear today as a cold front sweeps through the area. In the wake of the front, winds will be gusty today, on the order of 25-35 mph at times. Be careful when driving high-profile vehicles, especially on north-south roads. Highs today will be in the 75-80 degree range.
After a cool Friday night, the warmup commences this weekend with highs into the lower 80s Saturday and well into the 80s for Sunday into next week.
Some spots may touch the 90 degree mark by the middle of next week as a warm high pressure sets up shop to the east of the area, pumping in warm, moist air from the Gulf. The added warmth and moisture may bring isolated showers and thunderstorms by late next week, a pattern more reminiscent of early summer than early May.
