Trump To Make 1st State Visit To U.K. In June

PRESIDENT TRUMP WILL MAKE HIS FIRST STATE VISIT TO BRITAIN THIS COMING JUNE

(CNN) – President Trump will make his first state visit to Britain in June.

Buckingham Palace and the White House say Trump accepted an invitation from Britain’s Queen Elizabeth to pay a state visit to the U.K. from June third to the fifth.

The president will also meet with British Prime Minister Theresa May and attend a ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

Trump did visit Britain last summer, but that was billed as a working visit.

For Trump’s trip to become a state visit, he must receive a formal invitation from the Queen.

Trump did have tea with the Queen during his working visit last summer.

The president was also met with large protests across Britain during last year’s trip.
