Northside High School Hires Two New Basketball Head Coaches

GREGORY JOHNSON AND KIERSTEN REID NAMED HEAD BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL COACHES

Northside high school has two new basketball coaches who are not new to the area.

For the girls team, Kiersten Reid takes over at the helm after a playing and coaching career at Columbus State University and then at Lagrange College.

Gregory Johnson comes from Central high school who coached under hall of famer Bobby Wright and played at Southern Mississippi and at the semi professional level.

This is their first head coaching jobs and they are looking forward to extending a winning tradition at Northside.

“Having love for basketball and you know we stay in a football state and you know for most people it’s about football here, but I want them to have that same kind of love for basketball and for them to play hard and just come out ready to play every night,” says Northside boys basketball head coach Gregory Johnson.

“I want them to have pride in Northside high school basketball and then you know I want to create a winning culture with them and we know it’s going to take hard work and it’s going to take time and a lot of investment and commitment, but that is what we want to do here,” says Northside girls basketball head coach Kiersten Reid.
